Catering, Alcohol and Smoking
A small on-site kitchen is available for light/minor catering. St Matthew's maintains a list of preferred caterers for larger scale functions. Those caterers work regularly at St Matthew’s and are therefore familiar with our facilities.

Preferred caterers may operate under their own alcohol licence. All other clients must independently acquire a special licence from the Auckland Council. Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited outside the church walls. There is no venue corkage fee.

St Matthew’s is a strictly smoke-free and vape-free venue in compliance with New Zealand legislation.

Lighting system features advanced programming and a fully customizable colour palette.

There is a radiant heating system installed in the Nave. It can be activated during cold months or on request.

The use of real candles is permitted inside the church, provided they are securely enclosed within glass cylinders. The use of haze and theatrical smoke is permitted.
Power
Standard power outlets and two 3-phase outlets are available. Clients must supply an external generator if their production equipment places heavy demands on the grid.

Other parking is available at Wilsons Parking on the South side of St Matthew’s, at the Sky City Carpark, Atrium carpark (entrance is through the Crowne Plaza Hotel entry on Albert Street) and Civic Car Park (entry at Greys Ave and Mayoral Drive).
Toilets
There are five separate unisex toilets located in the church (four in the basement, one accessible on the main level). If external toilets (e.g., Port-a-loos) are hired, they must be positioned on the south side of the church and removed immediately when the event ends.
