REAL CONVERSATIONS

The environment in which business works is both complex and stressful. As well as meeting profit expectations, business today has to deal with a myriad of demands from customers, regulators and stakeholders. The market for goods and services is facing significant demographic and societal change. Global issues from climate change to digital disruption to new security challenges are having a powerful impact.

In this context, culture, values and the need for an entire organisation to do the right thing have become more important than ever.   Businesses are being encouraged to develop good cultures within their governance and to take it to all levels within their organisation.

Since 1853 St Matthew’s has stood at the heart of Auckland City. Service to the city and its people is at the heart of what this faith community stands for.

During 2018 we had conversations with business leaders in the city seeking their feedback to our proposal for St Matthew’s to host and facilitate space for honest conversations around genuine concerns between business people to take place. These breakfasts are a response to those conversations.

Breakfast

Our third Real Conversations breakfast was held on Wednesday 4 March 2020.
